LOGAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Logan City police arrested Emilio Hoy for animal cruelty charges on Friday. 

Police say Hoy shot a Jack Russel Terrier repeatedly with an air soft gun while holding the dog in the air by the tail. 

The dog is now in police custody, and is scheduled to be seen by a veterinarian. 

Others could be charged for participating or facilitating Hoy's conduct.
