WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah ABC 4 News) - ABC 4 is taking action on the west side of Salt Lake City. That's where an annual turkey drive is slowing down thanks to bad economy. Now we have results.
After our story aired, Backman Elementary has received 400 more turkeys, meeting their goal for that school.
For ten years, Frank Cordova and Archie Arhchuleta have been collecting donated turkeys and distributing them to underprivileged students at four area elementary schools.
Just a few years ago, they collected 3000 donated turkeys. But, time is running out. Three days are left to turns things around, Friday, next Monday, and Tuesday.
Just bring your frozen birds to Backman Elementary at 601 North 1500 West from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
